I am always on the hunt for new snacks that are healthy, satisfying, and delicious, and these Broad Bean Crisps from Enlightened are the total package!

When it comes to snacking I look for 4 things:

  1. Are there at least 3 grams of protein?
  2. Are there at least 3 grams of fiber?
  3. Is the sugar 5 grams or less?
  4. Are the first three ingredients actual foods (i.e. beans, nuts, seeds, fruit, etc).

The combination of enough protein and enough fiber is what is going to make a snack satisfying and actually fill you up.  The amount of sugar is what will distinguish a healthy snack from a piece of candy.
