Post-Workout Recovery Smoothie

This recovery smoothie is my go-to breakfast after a morning run or spin class.  It is so important for your muscles to recovery and refuel the right way after a workout. And eating within 30 minutes of your workout helps to curb your appetite so that you do not overeat later on, completely outdoing all the calories you just burned.  This recovery smoothie hits all the necessary notes because it is packed with protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals, plus it is hydrating and will replenish your electrolytes, and it does all this while staying waistline friendly (total win).  So cheers to you and your health, getting that workout in is not always easy but it is always worth it!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen spinach
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 4 oz plain Greek yogurt
  • 8 oz unsweetened almond milk

Directions:

  1. Combine and blend all ingredients in a blender.  If consistency is too thick, add ice slowly and pulse until you have reached your desired consistency. Pour into a glass or your favorite to-go cup and recover on the move! (Reminder: do not strain, the pulp is the good stuff!)
